Welcome to episode 5 of the Minder Podcast in association with Minder.org.
This is part two of an interview with Gennie Nevinson, the actress who played Terry’s girlfriend Penny, or Penny Flyme, in the programme.
Over the course of four episodes Gennie became a firm favourite in Minder.
She is also well known for a starring role in Muriel’s Wedding as well as many appearances in Home and Away and Zoo Family. She has also appeared in The Bill, Babe (voicing a sheep) and Star Cops.
In this episode Gennie talks about the perils of casting especially as an actress who looks much younger than her age.
We also talk about working with Diana Malin, who played another of Terry’s regular birds, Debbie, and ponder over what happened to her after Minder.
A couple of points on the show.
Firstly, as with the last interview with Gennie, the sound is slightly below average standard due to a technical hitch and Gennie having to record the interview on her mobile.
I should also remind you that once again we have what might be termed explicit material due to a naughty word.
Lastly, another sound hitch meant that twice when we were talking about Anthony Valentine (who played Maurice in the show), there was a jump and the lead up to the topic was missed. So when Gennie mentions he was gorgeous, she is talking about Mr Valentine. We also mention his passing in 2015.
